Winter school uniforms for girls

The Children’s Foundation is pleased to continue our support for FFLV, in Vrindavan, India. Food for Life Vrindavan (FFLV) has been operating since 1991. They have provided more than 1500 women and girls with free education, skill training and medical help.

FFLV aims to keep girls in school until 18 to prevent early marriage. They also encourage and support girls to pursue a university education if that is what they want. If you want to learn more about their work, they have participated in the documentary Unmuted on child marriage for International Day for girls (October 11th). You can watch the documentary's trailer here.

We have supported the school since 2017 in a number of ways such as the provision of notebooks and school books. For 2025, there was a request for winter uniforms which will be distributed this year when the weather turns colder.

FFVL goal to support these schoolgirls is:

  • To give them hope and dignity and prevent child marriage.
  • To increase their overall wellbeing and a fair chance in their lives.
  • To empower them to break their cycle of poverty and to help them reach their full potential.
