Support a School in Gambia

HE Space Children's Foundation supports the New Town Lower basic school in Bakau with upgrading their classrooms. Currently the classrooms are untiled. The school has 2035 students up to the age of 13. Each classroom holds 60 students, who are taught during one part of the day, either in the morning or the afternoon. This way another group of students can use the same classroom the other part of the day. The work will be coordinated by "Stichting Steun en Opbouw Gambia".

Like all projects of the HE Space Children's Foundation the New Town Lower Basic School in Bakau will also receive a Universe in a Box. This is an educational kit to assist the teachers to teach astronomy and space sciences to 4–10 year old children around the world. Universe in a Box was developed to meet a demand for practical, interactive, and fun resources to bring astronomy to the classroom. It provides teachers with over 40 practical activities as well as the materials and models required to do them.
