Student desks and chairs for dormitory in Tanzania

The charity which we support is called Une Rive, Un Rêve and since 2012, they have been busy building and running a secondary school in Basotu, a village of 20,000 inhabitants in Northern Tanzania.

Classrooms, offices, dormitories, and a refectory have all been built and are already in use by local children. Dozens of students are benefiting from classes, tutoring, and safe housing while construction on other essential facilities such as laboratories and a water supply system continues.

The goal is to open the school fully for 600 students as soon as possible. The Foundation played a part in this project by providing funds for:

  • 30 bunk beds in the girls’ dormitory.
  • 32 student chairs and 32 student desks delivered and in use.
  • 3 dining hall tables and 6 benches provided for the dormitory.

The next step for the project is to provide a reliable water supply for the school site and we are keen to support Une Rive Un Reve in 2026 with this critical work – watch this space!

The project has made significant progress with the completion of the girls' dormitory and plans to furnish it, thanks to the generous support from HE Space Children’s Foundation. Florian, projectmanager
