Educational support for children in Haiti

HE Space employee, Santiago Martínez Villalba, initiated a project to lift children out of the poverty from which they come in Haiti. The project will be run by Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (Spanish for “Our Little Brothers and Sisters”), an organisation that aims to guarantee an education from kindergarten to university.

The project by the HE Space Children's Foundation provides and assures the access to appropriate and needed school materials for 74 vulnerable children in 4th grade of elementary school in the rural area of Kenscoff Mountains. The goals of the project are:

  1. To ensure the necessary school materials that will enable all students of 4th grade Elementary education to better learn at St. Hèléne school and develop their unique potential learning, and therefore become in the future, productive members of their society.
  2. Make sure all students of 4th grade Elementary education stay at school throughout the year without abandoning their education as individuals due to extreme poverty and lack of money to pay for their school materials.
  3. Diminish the level of frustration of many families in Haiti living in extreme poverty conditions, that lead to truancy and school failure because they cannot afford to pay for schooling and school materials.

We wish Santiago and Javier Adsará Grau a successful start to their project.
